“Nearly a decade ago, I walked into a Summer lunch at a friends’ house. I was seated next to a blond girl @fancy_peasant , and after a few minutes we realized we were both massively postpartum, both desperately needing to leave the table to pump, and both seriously under water. A few months later we reconnected again at a music class with our then babies, and well, the rest is history. Now we have six boys between us, two businesses and one very epic salad and dressing that launches TOMORROW for the month of May @springcafeaspen . This morning we celebrated with a Mother’s Day breakfast at Spring. Being a founder, an entrepreneur and a mom are three of the greatest blessings in my life. They are also difficult and at times lonely journeys. I’ve never been more grateful for this girl gang of badass women, brilliant founders, co-moms, girlfriends and all the sisterhood that comes along with it. As it turns out tomorrow morning, I’m going back to my k-8 school to be the guest speaker for their Mother’s Day event. Let’s just say that I wasn’t the most popular girl in middle school, I was awkward, a late bloomer and I mean I brought carrot juice in my lunch to school every day…. it took me a long time to find my tribe. Today as I looked around the room at Spring, I realized that the best friendships are worth waiting for, and the people in your life who are meant to find you always will. The next time you’re invited to a lunch or dinner, say yes. Talk to the stranger next to you, they just might become the friend of a lifetime, and if you’re really lucky you might even dream up something delicious together to share with all the other people you meet along the way”
