Easy as Pie Cheese Pita (Alevropita)

This olive oil-based pita was served almost weekly in my home as the most delicious and comforting snack. Whether alongside a big green salad or a proper Greek coffee, this peasant stable is a delicacy the entire family will enjoy! To all you mammas out there: this is a good recipe to make with your littles because it’s so simple.

Easy as Pie Cheese Pita (Alevropita)


  • 1 pound of Greek Sheep feta
  • 7 oz self-rising flour
  • ¾ cup of nut milk (or regular)
  • 1/2 cup Fancy Peasant GEVOO
  • 2 eggs


  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • In a large mixing bowl, add flour and create a well in the center. Pour milk, GEVOO, crumbled feta, and eggs. Mix well.
  • Transfer your mixture to a well oiled glass pyrex.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes
