Olive Oil Koulourakia


  • 4 organic eggs
  • 14 oz. Greek strained yogurt
  • 14 oz. organic sugar
  • 14 oz. Fancy Peasant GEVOO
  • 2 lb. 6 oz. flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder

To Top:

  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons mineral water
  • 3 tablespoons Sesame


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Sift the flour together with the baking powder.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, add the eggs, yogurt, sugar, FP GEVOO and mix well. Gradually begin to add the flour and knead (the dough should be soft and pliable, not sticky). You may need to add a bit more flour to the dough to get just the perfect consistency.
  4. Once the dough is ready, form it into a ball. Cover with plastic and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Once the dough has rested, dip your fingers in a little flour and pinch off a 1 inch ball of dough. Roll the ball into a 7 inch rope on a lightly floured surface.
  6. Fold the rope in half and twist the two strands together to form a cookie. Continue with the remaining dough.
  7. Place the shaped cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet, 1 inch apart.
  8. Brush each cookie with the egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon of water). Sprinkle the cookies with sesame seeds, if desired.
  9. Baked the cookies for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Cookies are done when they are lightly golden.
