Olive and Feta Twists

A staple recipe in my family that brings me great joy to share. I hope you enjoy making these for your tribe just as much as I do. Your desire to continue making these will be strong. In bread, we trust.

Olive and Feta Twists

  • 1 pound organic flour
  • 1 ⅔ cup of warm filtered water
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of organic sugar
  • ½ Fancy Peasant GEVOO
  • 1 cup black olives, pitted
  • 1 cup feta
  • Pinch of salt

  • In a large mixing bowl, add siftted flour and create a well to add lukewarm water, olive oil, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  • Knead your dough and mix well. Dough should be soft (if sticky, add GEVOO)
  • Next, add in olives and feta
  • Cover and set aside someplace warm for 45 minutes until dough doubles in size
  • Divide into equal parts and create a ball shape
  • Lather your hands with olive oil and elongate your dough to form a twist shape by reversing each edge
  • Transfer to a parchment paper lined baking sheet
  • Bake at 400° for 20 minutes or until golden brown
